Everything that is marked in purple on this map of the Netherlands is below sea level, and the inhabitants have therefore done a great deal of work to avoid floods. The pieces in this great puzzle are carved out along borders and coastlines, and some of the pieces are shaped like things that have made the Netherlands famous, tulips, skates, clogs, windmills and canal boats. Study the map and note big cities and other famous places, try to remember where they are before you take the pieces out of the frame.
